Many charm collectors around the world, including myself, had hoped to become the lucky owner of this spectacular charm when came up for auction last week. The beautiful, hand-enamelled details are fully revealed when the cover of this antique French c.1900 charm is slid aside. The virtual hammer came down at 19 bids and it sold for a whopping US$2,025.00! It was part of Joan Munkacsi’s extensive collection of charms and is featured on page 176 in Charms and Charm Bracelets – The Complete Guide Book. The book is authored by Joanne Schwartz and Joan Munkacsi was the technical advisor.
